Shangri La, The Shard!
I haven’t blogged in a little while & I have a perfectly good reason which will all be explained soon! Some of you may follow me on Instagram & would have seen that I celebrated my birthday at The Shangri La Hotel at The Shard, London.
Friday night I celebrated with my friends at a club in London, I hadn’t been clubbing in the UK since 2014 so I thought why not!? The next day, the Mr came to pick me up at exactly 2pm and had a blindfold for me! I had to wear it until we got to the hotel as it was all a surprise, he loves a surprise lol! I get really anxious when I don’t know what’s going on and when I am not in control of situations so can you imagine the level of anxiety!? I was confident I was going to absolutely love whatever he had planned because every year, he does the most & outdoes himself but still, I was nervous nonetheless.
I don’t wanna bore you all with the rest of the little details so I’ll just get right into my first impressions & review of this hotel. Instantly, I was impressed that somebody came to our car and opened the door for me.. The marble decor in this place is beautiful. We had to take a lift to the 35th floor I believe, where we would check in at the reception there & then take the lift up to our room on the 47th floor! As we walked in, I realised how huge/spacious our room was. It had a massive bed, a little sofa, marble table with a bowl of complimentary fruits, loads of wardrobe space, a desk with an incredible view of the city & then the gorgeous bathroom to the left.
It was one hell of an experience, being up that high and getting to sleep with that view. We even woke up at the crack of dawn to catch the sun rise and had room service arrive just on time for it!
Once we put our stuff down, we got changed into our swimwear & robes to go up to the 52nd floor to the Sky Pool..
